12/27 through 12/31 Running Training Journal

Tuesday 12/27 :  Straight 15.28 mile run.  Felt very comfortable.  First 15+ mile run in training for many months and first straight over 15 since October Grand Rapids Marathon.

Wednesday 12/28:  Straight 15.28 mile run.  Felt a little sorer but overall was more comfortable than normal.

Thursday 12/29: AM: 7.62 mile run.  PM: 7.62 mile run.  Noticeable sorer today and stiff on runs.  Ran slower than normal.

Friday 12/30: AM: 7.62 mile run. PM: 7.62 mile run.  Stretched 2 sets of 20 second each body part before and after runs.  Definitely felt sore but was noticeable looser and ran faster and more fluidly.

Saturday 12/31: AM: 7.62 mile run. PM: 7.62 mile run.  Started feeling a little less sore – not sure if this is actually me adapting to the mileage or from me shedding weight from the 10 plus pounds of weight/water weight I put on over Christmas.

Overall this has been a tough week in training as I upped my mileage from 12 miles a day to 15 miles a day.  I’ve felt sore pretty much all week, although I think it may be subsiding and I experienced some emotional lows.
